Concepts App Reviews

Procreate is an alluring and capable drawing application, but I keep coming back to my Concepts app in spite of the fact. The fact is that Ive used Concepts now for over two years and I know Ive only scratched the surface of what it (and I) can accomplish! As stated before, Im in for the long haul. Concepts. I cant quit you.

I am a theoretical physicist and I am constantly writing down / drawing up ideas regarding different theories. I never thought the day would come when I could simply take out my phone and quickly write down, by hand, absolutely anything. There are no limitations for this app. The method to select items and apply transformations is super clean, intuitive, and most importantly precise. The ability to edit any stroke ever created is beyond amazing. The objects panel adds even more functionality. You will be able to render a complete drawing of any idea that may strike you. The only additional feature that is a must (but they probably will implement soon) is a complete backup of the data to iCloud or some server of choice. Excellent job Concepts Team! Thank you for making this beautiful piece of software.

Definitely encourage anyone to get this app who loves to draw and design, great app guys cep up the good work

I paid for the pro version, which is great. Nice fully featured sketching app that exports to vector format. But now I have to shell out for the PDF features?! Nice slap in the face for those of us who actually paid money for this app. Luckily I dont need the PDF features, but I will have to keep my eyes open for another app for when the dev decides to start taking away features and locking them behind another pay wall.

An amazing app, with a load of fun and useful tools.

Extremely buggy (especially after updates), and in-app purchases do not seem to sync across all devices (be prepared to uninstall and reinstall multiple times to make in-app purchases sync). No iCloud sync either. Very basic features even in the Pro Pack. Very limited brushes options, color utilization is limited to Copic color swatches and a pointless set of numeral fields. It lacks a real color mixer, color picker, and a color sampler like most drawing programs like sketchPad, Adobe Draw, iDraw etc. bottom line, for the money you could do better with many other options (e.g. iDraw/Graphic by Autodesk) that are more full-featured, user-friendly, definitely less buggy, and let you sync your files across all devices.

Concepts works great, doing the simple things I need to do most of the time but, behind the ease of use, is a very robust and fully featured drawing app that should serve anyones needs very well. Costumer support is outstanding - quick and responsive. I asked a question around 11:30 PM EST about using a feature, anticipating a response in maybe 24-48 hours, and within minutes got a response with clear instructions. I highly recommend Concepts.

I love Concepts

I cant say enough about how much I love this app! I used to use Mischief on my pc to brainstorm and thumbnail ideas for my art projects and comic. However I love being able to use multitouch AND my iPad pencil to really focus on getting those ideas down quickly. The limitless (?) paper size is so nice to have when trying to get down ideas immediately and sort out after. A huge thank you to the developers !!

I can sketch fluidly and then export the vectors to use in software for my cnc. How fantastic is that!

Great design app! I came across this one a few years back looking through options for cad drawings. I was really looking for something basic; a few lines/shapes...a measuring tool. Man, was I surprised when I found Concepts! All my wishes and way more. Im no artist or designer and have still found it to be indispensable. I Highly recommend this one and continue to be amazed at what other artists are able to render on the app. On a personal note Im really looking forward to new updates, extras & future goodies -Keep up the great work and design on! 12/22/17 Love the new updates: Make your own objects, object packs, PDF import/export, new layers overhaul. This apps potential is limitless! Have been using near its inception and I still think its my favorite.

It is so easy to use that I can spend more time being creative and less time figuring out how to make it work. I love it.

Its amazing what I can achieve with this app. Its a real work tool, its constantly growing without loosing the simplicity. Being able to work from the initial sketches to the final files with the comfort of an iPad is awesome. 10 points for the new PDF export.

But honestly the layers tool has become so hard to use. Its almost made me leave the app altogether.

Concepts is so good, I purchased iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. So glad I did. Concepts continously gets updated with awesome upgrades. So many great features and the new upgrade to improved Layers is exceptional. Adding PDF import and export was another plus. Right now my largest complaint with Concepts app is the very poor handling of TEXT. This alone is the weakest part of Concepts app. For example there is no text wrap. (WHAT, NO TEXT WRAP?). When you type something, it is displayed as ONE LONG LONG LINE. This is totally unacceptable. Also, there is only ONE FONT! This should have been fixed before the layers and PDF recent updates. When I start a project that Id like to do in Concept, but requires text, I switch immediately to TouchDraw or Graphic App instead because of the great flexibility of text manipulation (font selection, wrapping, justification, etc). At the rate Concepts is being upgraded, surely TEXT will be something that will be tended to.

Love this app for rapid ideation, but not having an eye-dropper tool definitely slows the process. Also, would be nice to be able to select by layer (without having to hide others first). Selection in general is alright, but sometimes slow and difficult to discern which item is which bubble.

I was looking for a powerful yet easy-to-use vector drawing app. Despite the raves, this is clearly not it, at least for me. Rather unintuitive and difficult to use just to get the most basic things done.

Great app I really enjoy using this app will get down with more practice and hopefully more tutorials.

I do not draw anything but I use this app to brainstorm ideas and take notes (by handwriting texts). The infinite paper feature is a huge plus as I do not need to worry about the boundary of the paper at all.

This app is why I love my iPad Pro so much. The layers addition is awesome and the import/export options are great. All I want is a perspective snapped ruler and a mass drawing backup option to google drive and other drives. Thanks! You already improved the layer functionality nicely.
